A classic bit of Scottish television and a country favourite, Still Game is back on our BBC screens and also live performance at the SSE Hydro! The Scottish comedy returned to BBC last week after a long nine year absence and received a great review.
The show attracted the highest overnight audience for a single episode taking a share of 58% of the Scottish TV audience resulting in a massive 1.3 million viewers! The show aired for the first time on BBC One throughout the UK and had a total of 3.2 million.
With the success of the sitcom, the producers then decided to create their first live show which aired in 2014 and sold out for the full 21 nights of performance. This then encouraged producers to announce return of Still Game: Live 2. Due to the high demand from fans and a fully sold out line up, five extra performances have been added.
The sitcom uses a range of PR and promotional tools to highlight the show, but with such a large following and sold out shows, we are sure that the success of Still Game will be long lived!
